St. Svithun Hotell
St. Svithun – Stavanger’s Patron Saint
St. Svithun lived in the ninth century. He was known for his humility, kindness, and charitable heart toward those who need it the most. Traditionally, St. Svithun is who one would turn to in order to prevent a draught. It is often said that how the weather is on the 15th of July, his day of celebration, is how the weather would remain for the next 40 days.
We want to make your day a little brighter.
Due to its typical Norwegian southwest weather, Stavanger is rarely exposed to draught. Given that, we can safely say that our patron saint is watching over his city with great care. Frequent showers are present, however, when the sky clears and the light shines over our shores, it is easy to be awed by the beauty of our landscape.
We have taken this light into our hearts here at St. Svithun Hotell. Showers can occasionally pour down on us in real life as well. Light for us represents happiness, safety, and hope. These are qualities that we want to represent as a hotel. We want to make the days a little brighter for our guests.
